A little trace of us

Lucy Schofield is a respected artist book maker and creative writer/thinker.
On her long list of famous figures, museums and collectives she has worked with, she also inspires hundreds of students every year teaching the basics of book making and book formats.

Lucy talks about books in the most respectful and affectionate way, suggesting that although we should handle special books with care, book paper improves when touched and that every time we read or inspect a book they ‘pick up a little trace of us’.

The group was made up of Interactive Arts and Multimedia students who were exploring experimental practice techniques such as using Circuit boards, QR codes and specialist inks, who were now taking part in Lucy’s book making tutorial to assist in making their own artist books.
Most students had tried their hand at book making before and were using this as refresher course, but took away inspiration for their projects from the many different books Lucy passed around.

Lucy Schofield also runs a mobile book library which you can find more about here.
