First year students taking part in the Knitprovisation project have been exploring ‘soil to skin’ clothing production through the use of local breed wool and upcycled knitwear. But they’re not alone! Through use of various media they have collaborating with students at Allegheny College, Pennsylvania studying soil to plate food production to share ideas about responsible design.
Last week both groups of students met ‘face to face’ in a transatlantic Skype discussion about their findings so far. In keeping with the knitted focus of the project students brought along their knitting, and shared their work with their American peers.
